Our Story

The Mount Remo Backcountry Society was founded by passionate outdoor enthusiasts who recognized the need to preserve and promote non-motorized backcountry access in the beautiful wilderness surrounding Terrace, British Columbia.

Over the years, we've built and maintained three exceptional backcountry cabins, creating a welcoming community for skiers, hikers, and mountaineers who share our love for the pristine wilderness.

Membership

Join the Mount Remo Backcountry Society

Become part of a community dedicated to advancing non-motorized backcountry access in British Columbia. Our membership is $30/year and renewed annually at our AGM in April.

Why Join?

By joining MRBS, you're not just paying a fee; you're contributing to the preservation of the backcountry and supporting the maintenance of our cabin network. The largest expense we face is helicopter time to fly in firewood, and your dues directly offset these costs.

  • Early-access bookings to the backcountry cabins (Sept 1 to 30).
  • Cloudburst magazine, published and emailed to members by FMCBC.
  • The chance to meet like minded individuals with the passion for the outdoors.
  • Support the maintenance of our four backcountry cabins: Larsen Ridge, Oscar, Anderson, and Morris.
  • Voting rights at our Annual General Meeting in April.
